I've been wearing my Sherlock Holmes hat for the past several weeks trying to figure out what's causing Dylan to have constantly reoccuring diaper rashes and some diarrhea. Unfortunately, I was apparently not made to be a detective. Not quite sure how successful I'd be creating chemistry test plans, either...
We've tried stripping his cloth diapers in case it was the water softener we were using. We've tried not using cloth diapers all together. We've tried 4 different formulas, including one soy formula. (We did at least learn that he eats more of the soy formula than the regular ones...who'd have thought considering it tastes utterly nasty). We've eliminated milk from his diet, cut out the tomato-products (which he loves).
Nothing helps. Again tonight when I picked him up from his grandma's house he's getting yet another diaper rash (again accompanied by diarrhea at the outbreak). I've decided we'll eliminate yogurt from his diet next, although he's been eating yogurt longer than we've been having this problem. (We were diaper rash free for 11 months). But that's it, that's my final idea. I've decided to throw the ball at my mother-in-law tomorrow. I'm thinking that perhaps there's a correlation and his diaper rashes are usually starting when he's been at his grandmas. So I'll try to work with her to figure out what might be different at her house. I know she uses a different brand of diaper, so I guess I'll ask her to use our Pampers for a while. She doesn't use wipes, so maybe it's her laundry detergent for her washcloths?
Seriously, do you hear how ridiculous and desperate this sounds?!? Elementary, my dear Watson, this is NOT.
(On a positive side-note, I've ceased my Thanksgiving panics about space. Figured out how to get everybody seated. Would appear I've even managed to find cranberries. Only thing to panic about now is how I get everything cooked by 3 when I usually had until 7.)
