I got so excited Saturday 'cuz the furniture store called to tell me that lil' Schnegg's furniture had arrived! G had been helping a buddy move that morning but we still managed to swing the trip to the store to pick up our newest prize possessions before they closed for the weekend...
Unfortunately, I was putting together part of the changing table Saturday evening only to determine that they'd forgotten to drill the holes in the center of the top board...okay, annoying but G figured he could work something out - so I just put it to the side and put the next piece together.
Got that one done, then I grabbed the boxes for his closet and opened it. There's a big chunk missing on the outside of one of the doors and on the inside of the other door! It obviously got knocked in transport (since that corner of the box is also all crumpled). Shite! 2 out of 3 - that's some crappy karma.
Had to leave G in charge of the calling-and-bitching portion of our program today since I had to head to Kaufering (production plant 2 hours away from here) for work today...As usual, he's being waaaaayyyy to nice about the whole process...He e-mailed them pictures of the damage/problems tonight and kindly requested they let us know how to proceed.
I'm sure they won't have any kind of solution in stock so we're gonna have to wait weeks AGAIN to put his friggin nursery together! (Last time we had to wait 7 weeks).
And here we were all set to put the finishing decorative touches on the nursery with Vanessa once we get back from camping...now without the friggin' closet or changing table to help us get a sense o' the space and colors.
On a positive note, though - we've fairly well decided on a primary colors/Dr. Seuss theme. G and I are still paging through his books to determine which characters deserve their spot on the wall. (The Cat in the Hat is a given...)
You need to stop trying to buy furniture there. It never works out well. Remember the Elefantenohr chair and Vanessa's bed?? Sheesh.
