The New House & The Fat Woman

We've finally put the worst of the move behind us. After the weekend from hell and 4'892 trips up and down the steps, we've fairly well unpacked all our boxes - which is not to say that we're close to being done with the new house... Since our space practically doubled, we still have quite a bit o' shopping to do.

Here just a few of the larger items on our shopping list:
- 1 new couch (check - ordered on Monday for delivery on or about my due date)
- 8 light fixtures (in addition to the 6 we already had)
- 4 bathroom cabinets for under-sink use
- 1 kitchen island for additional counter space
- 1 large dresser
This IN ADDITION to the nursery that was obviously already on our list.

For the most part, we're loving the new place - despite (or partially because of) all the stairs. Since the dining room and kitchen are on the first floor and the living room's on the 3rd, we've noticed several positive changes in our eating habits. For one, we eat at the dining room table now - instead of in front of the TV. I'm also much more active in my assistant-role while G's cooking. We're also snacking less - you really contemplate whether you need that cookie/coke if you have to go down (and back up) 2 flights of stairs. G mentioned today that whatever sweets we DO go get, we've definitely earned...I'm thinking the stairs are going to be excellent when it comes time to loose the baby weight. Right now, I like them for the most part - except when my feet/ankles/legs are swollen, then they just plain suck.

On a less positive note, I'm definitely entering that uncomfortable phase of pregnancy. It would appear that my belly has yet again doubled in size overnight.

Lil' Schnegg has now apparently permanently positioned some body part directly under my ribs on my right side - effectively pinching some vital nerve or organ, it's loverly. It would also seem that I've grown out of all my maternity pants...Hopefully we'll make it to the store to buy me the next size up in the midst of all our furniture shopping this weekend.
