Apparently it's not a rash at all - it's a side-effect of my edema. She called it something-something "Purpura." Basically it's my capillaries bleeding out under the skin.
Here's what my sexy ankles look like today:
Here's how I summarized it: "so there's been too much blood down there for too long and now it's becoming visible." The pediatrician (my OB's husband who she called in 'cuz he has more experience with rashes) said, "pretty much. The blood can't make it back up your leg so now it's looking for new pathways."
So basically I have to go get new support stockings tomorrow and I'm home for a week with my feet up. If I have pain I'm supposed to go to the hospital immediately (they're worried about thrombosis but not seeing it yet.) Oh well, at least it's definitely not PUPPP.
On a more positive note, my iron finally started creeping up slightly! My OB said she was, "very proud of me." Yay for the pills finally kicking in...
Yikes! So, I guess this means updated blog every day for the next week?!
