Back in School

I had my first birthing class this week. I love the midwife running it...she's slightly chaotic and is totally blunt about everything. She phrased things a couple of times so that we all had to start laughing, I'm trying to think of the really funny one - no idea but the way she phrased something about birthing was totally sexual in nature. We all laughed and she said, "that came out badly." There're 8 of us in the class ranging from 24w to 36w. I'm the second farthest along but there're 4 of us in our 33 week...could get interesting that week since the hospital only has 2 birthing rooms.

I also started preggo water gymnastics last weekend. Didn't start off too well since I couldn't find the damn pool and was late. They did the theory part in one of the dressing rooms and all the other mommas (and the midwife) were in swimsuits but I had to sit there in my jeans and t-shirt 'cuz I was late. By the end of the half hour I was ready to pass out it was so friggin' warm in there. The water part was pretty sweet though. A lot of breathing stuff - having us blow bubbles to sink ourselves down into the water as practice for breathing during labor. The very best part was the "relaxation exercise" at the end. You laid on your stomach holding one of those little foam boards and rested your head on your arms with a noodle under your belly. Then your partner pulled you backwards in a circle for about 5 mins - it was amazingly relaxing and awesome to be able to lay on my belly again...
