T Minus 4 - Immune to Contractions?

Had another preggo acupunture appointment today. The nurse asked me when my due date was and when I told her that it's Saturday, she decided that we'd go ahead and hit my "contraction points" as well...so I got 4 extra needles today. One in each hand and one in each pinky toe. (The toe ones HURT!)

The NST monitoring was again entertaining...it was registering contractions every 8-ish minutes. And I CAN'T FEEL THEM AT ALL. The midwife kept asking, "you can't even feel your belly getting hard?" Ummm...nope. She said she's interested to hear what my OB says about that at my appointment tomorrow and concluded that my uterus must just be "training really hard." Whatever, I'm so not gonna complain about NOT feeling contractions...I'm still operating under the impression that I'll feel them when it's time to go to the hospital...(At least I freaking hope so).

Also went to the Toyota garage today and had 'em check to make sure we'd properly installed the car seat. Check. I think we're really pretty much ready to go - just waiting on "le Schnegg" as G called him tonight.

G's now convinced that I'm gonna have the baby on Thursday since the pastor is coming to our house to talk to us about the baptism Thursday morning and I have an appointment to get my hair done Thursday afternoon. It'd be fairly typical for a child of ours so I'm not ruling it out...

G and I went out to dinner tonight to celebrate a last "date night" within our small little 2-person family before it expands to include the newest member...we had a great night, even if most of our conversation circled around our many and varied checklists. Vanessa's flight? Booked. Birgit & Aaron's baptism certificates? Need to ask the pastor what the hell those are. Circumcision arranged? Need to ask the OB again tomorrow whether she's figured out who we need to talk to about that. And on and on...

And our funny story for the day? G and I decided on our flights for Christmas today and we found some really good fares so I figured I'd go ahead and book the flights now. Well, I finally realized....

You kind of need a name to be able to book baby's flight. (And a birth date if we wanna sign him up for his frequent flier miles). DOH. Guess that'll just have to be item #1 on our post-birth checklist.

And here's another attempt to capture the abuse on film. :)
